Something You May Want To Know?

Post 118: Pulau Tioman @ Pahang

Hi Readers! Another blog post for all of you. This will be another 'not much detail' blog :( because I did not take much photos though so sorry if I couldn't help much.
Before our trip, my cousin's family went before us so they told us that the food weren't nice, hotel just so so, prepare cup noodles because they do not serve lunch, buy junk food, buy bread for the fishes. My family did not put high hope on this trip. Before you go for your trip, firstly, to be sure that your rooms are booked. Second, called the hotel to get more info regarding the transportation to the resort/how many hours to Tanjung Gemok Jetty by driving/time schedule of the ferry. Third, do ask them how many meals they are providing you during the stay. Forth, do prepare some food to eat in the car while you are on the way to the jetty/in the ferry. you will be very hungry. Fifth, do prepare cup noodles if necessary as our hotel package did not provide lunch.

Day ONE

We started our journey at 6am. The journey to Tanjung Gemok will take 4 hours so we need to start our journey early and our ferry will be at 11am so we need to stand by at 1030am. There so called 'Boarding Pass' was just a normal card board with different colors. When they call out your color, you have to Q up to get into the ferry. Apparently, we are the last person (haha) so be alert when they are calling your colors. Also, there are total THREE stops the ferry may stop, ours will be stopping at Tekek so please be alert when they make any announcement when they've reach the jetty.

The ferry was so full of people. My family and I have to split up. Me, sister and mom sat at the head of the ferry which was the bad idea because on that day it was so wavy and bouncy at the front. My sister and mom puke in the ferry (in the toilet), we (me, sister & mom) have to suffer for at least 2 hours in the ferry. My youngest sister was sitting at the tail, dad & brother sat outside the ferry. I was quite ok in the ferry trying to calm myself.

We arrived Tekek jetty at 110pm, it was so beautiful.

We saw tons tons tons of fishesssssss

Once we arrived the jetty, there will be a mini bus to pick us up to our resort. The place we are staying for 2 nights was at Berjaya Tioman Resort. Its a 10min journey to the resort. You will see duty free shops, Tioman airport, coffee shops, school, houses, etc.

The view from the receptionist counter.

That was our mini bus we took from the Tekek jetty

The gift shop.

Activities Information Center where you could find out different outdoor activities

The environment wasn't as bad as what we thought.
We did ask the receptionist where to eat, what are the facilities they have, and etc

Let's get into our Deluxe Chalet :) Previously my mom booked 3 rooms in total but it was so inconvenient for us as we share our shampoos/body shower/conditioning/clothing etc so they actually recommended us to upgrade to Delux Chalet where you can walk room to room. The best thing was our chalet is facing the sea (AWESOME)

The view from our room

The view from our room to the sea

I didn't take much photos of our rooms but you may check their website. Its was exactly the same so don't have to worry.

Our sister's room came with 3 single bed and parents room came with 1 queen size bed and single bed.

These was our chalet, Of cause, its not the entire chalet. Our rooms located at the top floor.

We were so damn hungry! We have to eat something after we've changed into our clothes. We walked out to the Chinese restaurant which was just outside the resort.  From our chalet wasn't far actually.

You can never forget to have some C-O-C-O-N-U-T :)

The prawns was HUGE, sweet, juicy & fresh! Awesome!

Squid was good too. We did order vegetable and steam fish. So sorry, I do not have photos of the steam fish but the fish was fresh and yummyyyyy!

After our late late lunch, went into the sea for some water and sun.

Around 5 something, all of us head back to our room shower and rest then go for buffet dinner provided by the resort.

We caught the sunset:)

Pathway to the restaurant

The swimming pool was just in front of the restaurant where we are eating our buffet dinner.

Sorry, no photos of the food. Some of the food are good, some normal, some not really good (Heh)

After finish our dinner, walked back to our hotel room for some rest. About 9pm head out again for some beer at Beach Bar

They do have live band as well at the Beach Bar. Please get a correct direction to this bar. Know why? because we were looking for this bar for ages! from no sweat till sweat. It was located right in front of the receptionist counter. The resort will be very dark during the night time, is better to get the direction right so that you don't have to walk up and down.

Day TWO

The next day we woke up very early for some breakfast and be ready to go for snorkelling. The snorkelling starts from 9am to 3pm. So you may go in between this time. Please to confirm the time with them again ya. I may be wrong too. just in case.

The wave was so strong in the morning due to the rain in the midnight

Hi shadow:)

Sunrise:)

It was a Good Saturday indeed.

We went to snorkel at Pulau Renggis only 5 minutes away from the island.
The picture above ^^^ can you see the small tiny island. That was the island we heading to.
We saw tons of corals and fishes. If you are lucky, you may see baby sharks too.

After snorkelling, we have cup noodles in the room and take a rest. We head out to the resort entrance to wait for our 4 x 4 Hilux. The people who live in the island brought us to the waterfall, Marine Park and etc. Only cost us RM 200. If you rent motor, car, bicycle, 4 x 4 from the hotel it was way more expensive. Ours was RM 200 because we spoke to the uncle who worked at the Chinese restaurant we ate during our late late lunch on our first day, he intro his friend to us so its way cheaper.

We sat the 4 x 4 car up to Juara Waterfall. The ride was fun though.

You have to hike a bit to this place. This place was so fresh, soothing & quiet. The water is so clear, cold and clean. We just went their to take photos and went back up to our 4 x 4 to go another place but i dont remember the place name.  So sorry

This was the road we used to go up and down the mountain

We went to Marine Park for snorkelling. There will be a small store renting out snorkelling gears for those who need it. The water wasn't deep at all actually. You may go a bit further just to see fishes and a little corals. I was scared to go further so i stayed mostly near the shore. ( and there was where I got all the sandflies on my both legs :( It was so itchy for at least 2 weeks, then I went to see a doctor and ate some medicines. It was better after taking some medicines)

Around 6pm, the 4 x 4 Hilux came to pick us up. Before we head back straight to the resort, he dropped us down to one of the Duty Free Shop to get some drinks back :)

We get back about 7pm, showered and rest a while before our dinner. Our dinner today was BBQ Beef/Lamb and some special food they served during the weekends. We walked around after our dinner, then back to the hotel to pack and rest.

Day THREE

It was so gloomy and a rainy day on our last day! The weather was so cooling and refreshing on our last day. We were lucky it wasn't raining the day before if not its gonna be screwed.

These was our ferry ticket.

The Tekek jetty was so damn stuffy and hot. Our ferry actually delayed like 45min?? We were supposed to be in the ferry at 2pm.

Reaching to Tanjung Gemok jetty soon.

All of us was fine in the ferry. Thank god! The ferry did stopped after we ldeft the jetty. We were like what is going on? Why do we have to stopped in the middle of the sea? We saw another ferry came close to use, we thought we have to change to another ferry because the ferry we were at got some problem. *getting so worried and terrified* It was wavy too ==
Know what happen? Heard someone said that our ferry left out some of the passengers.........

Anyway,
We were having our dinner just nearby the jetty before we start our journey back home.

Some of the dishes we ordered but it was just okok..

Overall, everything wasn't that bad at all especially when you are with your family. P-E-R-F-E-C-T

Service was kinda bad. We called a van to pick us up to have our lunch outside the resort but it took ages for them to come so we walked out of the resort instead.
We called to the front desk to get us water/towel, it took them quite some time to send it over to our room. We have to called TWICE

If you asked me do I prefer Redang or Tioman?? I would prefer Redang <3 because Services were good and the island we snorkel-ed was way better. :D

I'm so sorry guys, this post was supposed to be up 3 weeks ago but I was so busy with work so please forgive me:)
